Identifying the Traits of Not-So-Great Bosses

Summary:

In this video, Kerry outlines four qualities that characterise less effective bosses. Firstly, they highlight low emotional capacity, showing a lack of awareness of signals from their team. Secondly, there’s a mention of a deficiency in mental intellectual capacity, preventing them from anticipating challenges their team might face. The third quality is low physical capacity, with bosses lacking the energy to stay engaged and often avoiding necessary on-site inspections. Lastly, Kerry emphasises a lack of time capacity, as these bosses rush around without proper communication or established timelines, expecting instant results without clear instructions.

There are the four qualities of the not-so-great bosses.

The number one is being low in emotional capacity.  They are just oblivious to the signals that are coming towards them from their people.

Number two, they lack the mental intellectual capacity, meaning they aren’t able to anticipate what everybody’s going to face when they’re attempting to fulfil their roles.

Number three is that they have a low physical capacity, meaning they don’t have the energy or the stamina to keep everything going. They tend to sit in their office, rarely walking around to see the team and don’t put in the extra hard work that’s needed for the extra results. The physical limitations also come because of their limited time capacity. They’re often racing around giving people different directions and wanting everybody to do things when they want them, and done instantly, without actually having explained everything it prior to needing it done.
